It’s amazing how little you need to make something delicious! I love the smell of the curry and the bright orange color it gives to the dish. If you ever tried a pilaf (a Middle Eastern or Indian dish of rice cooked in stock with spices, typically having added meat or vegetables), the taste and smell is very close - but you don’t have to use any kind of meat, so this step makes this recipe easy!

Ingredients:

• 300 gr long grain rice
• 2 carrots
• 1 onion (I prefer blue onion for moderate smell)
• 1 tomato
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 750 ml of hot water, or more
• 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
• bay leaf
• salt
• oil

Directions:

☺ Diligently wash the rice.
☺ Heat the thick-walled cooking pot, add oil.
☺ Chop carrots and add to a pot. Cook 5 min
☺ Chop onion and garlic, add to carrots, cook 5 min.
☺ Add curry and chopped tomato, 2 min.
☺ Add rise and mix it with vegetables.
☺ Add boiled water (the amount of water has to be to cover the rice on 2 fingers).
☺ Add salt and bay leaf.
☺ Close the lid, and after the water is boiled, cook 15 min.
*It is better to add hot water, it will reduce the waiting time.
